Great Bay Estuary is an important watershed for many marine organisms, recreational uses and commercial uses as well, such as oyster aquaculture. Green crabs are well established in this Bay, and may negatively impact natural, restoration, and farmed oysters. My research focuses on integrating social aspects from the NH oyster industry to identify challenges farmers face in relation to green crabs, and how to mitigate and better understand these challenges. This was done through trapping at natural and aquaculture oyster areas, investigating the diet of green crabs in this watershed, and looking at NH aquacultured oyster-green crab interactions.
