This seminar is recommended for undergraduate Pre-Professional Health Program students. Students should take this course in the fall semester of their sophomore year. Upper class students who may have only recently decided to consider a health professions career are also welcome to register for the course. This seminar is primarily designed for second year undergraduate students who are in the initial phase of preparation for a career in allopathic or osteopathic medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, physician’s assistant, pharmacy, chiropractic, or naturopathic medicine. Through readings, discussions, and guest lectures students will become informed about current topics in healthcare, and specifically about these professions, requirements for admission to degree programs, and about how to become a competitive applicant. In addition, this seminar is also open to any student interested in learning more about these topics.
