Dudley Lot

Obtained by the University in 1985, the Dudley lot is immediately adjacent to the Burley-Demerritt farm. Although only 21 acres in size this property has a wide variety of wildlife habitat elements including frontage on the Lamprey River and both forested and open areas. Predominant trees species here include a substantial stand of young aspen and birch as well as pockets of mature white pine, red oak, hemlock and red maple. This property is multi-use so is open to the public for most forms of non-motorized recreation including hunting, fishing and all forms of pedestrian traffic

Both this and the Burley-Demerritt lot are targets for permanent land protection measures by the Town of Lee and the Lamprey River Advisory Committee.

From Durham, take Mill Road to Packers Fall Road. Turn left onto Packers Fall Road to Wiswall Road. Turn right onto Wiswall Road. Make a left turn at the two way stop at the end of Wiswall Road. This road intersects with Lee Hook Road. At the intersection turn right. Continue down Lee Hook Road for 0.7 miles and you will see the entrance to the Burley-Demeritt farm on your left. Continue for just over a mile, there is a pull-off on the south side of the road for access to the northern part of the property.
