Madison's research focuses on a geographically extensive and dense, weeks-long bloom of the dinoflagellate, Tripos muelleri that occurred throughout the GoME in summer 2023. Her research uses ‘omics techniques on samples collected from the peak of the bloom to its decline, providing essential insights into understanding the blooms’ community composition, microbial interactions, and potential triggers of the formation and demise of this bloom.
