Abigail's research investigates the cumulative impact of water temperature and anthropogenic noise on the settlement behavior of larval blue mussels (Mytilus edulis). This will be the first time (to-date) the vulnerable life stage of these animals will be studied in the context of these coinciding anthropogenic stressors. The goal of this research is to add to our limited understanding of the species in the face of a burgeoning aquaculture industry within New Hampshire.
