Reapplicant Cycle

You are considered a Reapplicant if you

  1. interviewed with the UNH Committee, submitted your application, but were not admitted to medical or dental school, or
  2. delayed your application after you had already interviewed with the UNH Committee.

Reapplicant Timeline for Applicants from Previous Application Cycles or Applicants who Delayed Applying

October through January

  • Registration for MCAT test dates between January and May opens in October
  • If you plan to retake your MCAT or DAT for the upcoming cycle, you should register now

February

  • Begin updating your:
    • Personal Statement
      • If you applied in a previous cycle, it is expected that you submit an updated personal statement to the programs you previously applied to.  Your theme can remain the same, but you should change your anecdotes and add experiences you have learned since you last applied.
      • This does not need to be submitted to the Pre-Professional Health Advising Office
    • Work & Activities Resume
    • Standard Resume
  • Think about whether you would like to submit New and/or Updated Letters of Recommendation
    • If your original letters are over three years old, you MUST request new or updated letters

March

  • Request New and/or Updated Letters of Recommendation
  • Submit New and/or Updated Materials
    • Reapplicant Form
    • Updated Standard Resume
    • Updated Work & Activities Resume
    • New and/or Updated Letters of Recommendation
    • Updated transcripts from UNH or new transcripts from other institutions attended
  • Primary applications for AMCASAACOMASTMDSAS, and ADEA AADSAS open in mid-May, you should begin working on your applications as early as possible.
    • Submit your applications as early as possible.

June

  • Submit New and/or Updated Materials
    • Reapplicant Form
    • Updated Standard Resume
    • Updated Work & Activities Resume
    • New and/or Updated Letters of Recommendation
    • Updated transcripts from UNH or new transcripts from other institutions attended
  • Primary applications for AMCASAACOMASTMDSAS, and ADEA AADSAS open in mid-May, you should begin working on your applications as early as possible.
    • Submit your applications as early as possible.
  • Your MCAT or DAT exam must be taken by the end of May,
    • June 30th is the latest date you can take your exam and still receive a Composite Committee Letter.

Reapplicant Timeline for Applicants who Applied During the Most Recent Application Cycle

March

  • Begin thinking about whether you might need to reapply in the upcoming cycle or if you might take a year off between application cycles if you are not admitted this cycle
  • Think about whether you would like to submit New and/or Updated Letters of Recommendation if you do decide to reapply
    • If your original letters are over three years old, you MUST request new or updated letters
  • If you think you need to retake your MCAT or DAT for the upcoming cycle, you should register now

April

  • If you decide to reapply immediately in the upcoming cycle, begin updating your:
    • Personal Statement
