Why did you choose UNH? After going far from home for undergraduate school, I decided it would be nice to be closer to some family again. Initially, UNH seemed like a great fit because it was closer to family, and because I was anxious to be back in New England. However, after visiting the UNH Dietetic Internship Open House, I realized that UNH would be much more than just a convenient location. The sustainability aspect of the program intrigued me because it’s unique and an experience you don’t really get anywhere else. The professors and staff also seemed passionate and excited to meet us and were great to talk to. Between that and the gorgeous campus, I became very interested in the UNH program.
What are your interests? My interests include being on the beach, hanging out with friends, and watching football (go Patriots and Roll Tide!).
What you most proud of? To date, I am most proud of getting into my top choice of a Master’s/Dietetic Internship program. It is something I worked really hard at achieving and I still can’t believe that it has become a reality. I am very grateful to my friends and family who have helped me achieve this and I am proud of how hard I worked to make it here.
What do you consider your biggest challenge? I think my biggest challenge is getting into my own way. I have a pretty Type A personality and am stubborn. At times, this keeps me driven and focused, but sometimes it makes me my own worst enemy. If I can put that aside in times of stress, I am able to get a lot more done and do well with what I’m doing.
What do you plan to do with your degree? I am very interested in possibly getting my PhD and becoming a college professor. Throughout my educational career, I’ve come into contact with amazing professors who were passionate about their research and helping me learn and grow as a future nutrition professional. I would love to help students find their passion and fall in love with nutrition the way I have.
