Research Topic: Salt Marsh Ecology
I graduated from Smith College in 2017 with a degree in Biology and a minor in Marine Science and Policy. I am interested in various aspects of invertebrate communities in salt marshes and estuaries. The research I am working on focuses on salt marsh ecology, specifically how large additions of sediment on the marsh platform affects macroinvertebrate communities. I am interested in examining how marshes and their inhabitants are affected by changes in the environment due to climate change and sea level rise. In order to keep up with these changes, methods have to be developed to improve salt marsh resilience into the future. I hope that my research will add another piece to the puzzle and improve our overall understanding of salt marshes.
