2019 104g National Competitive Grants Competition - preproposals due Friday, February 15th

Summary: 

The USGS has announced that preproposals for the FY2019 Water Resources Research National Competitive Grants Program (section 104(g) of the Water Resources Research Act of 1984) will be due February 15, 2019.  Please see the draft RFP for further details. 

Research proposals should address topics that improve and enhance the nation’s water supply. Preproposals are due at by 5:00 PM on Friday February 15, 2019 and should be emailed to nh.wrrc@unh.eduA panel will evaluate the preproposals and will select up to 30 preproposals to invite to the full proposal competition.  Full proposals will be due to the NH WRRC shortly before the May 31, 2019 deadline on grants.gov.  Any investigator at an accredited institution of higher learning is eligible to apply. Proposals involving substantial collaboration between the USGS and university scientists are encouraged.  Proposals may be for projects of 1 to 3 years in duration and may request up to $250,000 in federal funds. Successful applicants must match each dollar of the federal grant with one dollar from non-federal sources. The Government's obligation under this program is contingent upon the availability of funds. 

Preproposals should follow the format in Attachment A of the RFP and not exceed 4 pages (excluding references).  A detailed budget is not required, thus budgets do not need to be endorsed by your sponsored programs office at the preproposal stage.
