Plant Production

HT-greenhouseplantingStudy across the breadth of a subject area is an excellent introduction to a career. The Plant Production concentration is for students who prefer just such a broad background in horticultural technology.

Working closely with a faculty advisor, each student designs an individual program of study. A set of core requirements provides the fundamentals of plant growth and development, soils, plant propagation, and plant health care. Students select additional courses from a list of electives in specific interest areas. Their coursework may combine studies in floriculture, fruit and vegetable production, landscaping, interiorscaping, arboriculture, nursery management, and floral design.

This concentration is excellent preparation for further education in horticulture, and an attractive background for entry into all areas of the horticultural industry.
