Thompson Hall

The University of New Hampshire and the UNH College of Life Sciences and Agriculture recently announced changes that will transform the Thompson School of Applied Science in response to the realities of higher education within our state and region and better serve New Hampshire’s workforce needs.

The Thompson School will continue to offer two-year associates degrees in Veterinary Technology, Forest Technology, and in an Applied Animal Science program emphasizing livestock animals. As a part of the transformation, these programs will more closely align with the university’s four-year programs.

Beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year, the Thompson School will no longer offer degrees in Civil Technology, Culinary Arts and Nutrition, Horticultural Technology, and Integrated Agriculture Management, and we are not accepting applications for these programs. The Companion Animal Science and Equine Management concentrations within the Applied Animal Science program will also be discontinued. Current Thompson School students in these programs will continue to have access to the same high-quality education and resources until they graduate in 2019.

You can learn more about the university’s plan and find answers to frequently asked questions at The Future of the Thompson School.
