Students applying for the MESB doctoral program are asked to provide recent (within five years) general Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores and possess a background in basic sciences appropriate for advanced study in the proposed area of specialization (for example, courses in biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and physics). In certain cases, deficiencies in a student's academic background can be remedied during the first year of graduate study.
