Research Topic: Neuronal Primary Cilia, cAMP Signaling, Brain Ciliopathies

Primary cilia are tiny, hair-like, centriole-derived organelles present in a majority of vertegrate cells.  Primary cilia are complex microdomains with unique features that have garnered interest because of their roles in vertebrate development and their involvement in human genetic disorders.  I am very interested in understanding
how ciliary cAMP signaling is transduced in neutronal primary cilia and how it modulates
neuronal function.  I am also dedicated to investigating how cilia defects lead to inherited
neuronal ciliopathies such as obesity, and major depression.
