Research Topic: Posttranslational modifications of heat shock protein 90

My research is focused on characterizing the posttranslational modifications of heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90). Hsp90 is a chaperone protein involved in assisting other proteins to adopt certain conformations necessary to fulfill their function. Hsp90 has been linked to cancer tumor proliferation and survival. Within these tumors, Hsp90 exists in complexes called the epichaperome. Through characterization of the structure and posttranslational modifications of Hsp90 within the epichaperome, I hope to gain a better understanding of how Hsp90 is changed to enable tumor survival.

Hobbies: In my spare time I enjoy hiking, swimming, and finding new restaurants to try. I also enjoy training for triathlons and half-marathons.

I chose UNH because of its passionate professors and location. UNH is only a short drive away from both the beach and White Mountains, which are both two of my favorite places.
