Shane Bradt, Ph.D. GISP

Extension Specialist in Geospatial Technologies & Water Quality, Extension Professor in Biological Sciences

Shane Bradt has been teaching geospatial workshops for UNH Cooperative Extension since 2001, and started his Extension Specialist position in January of 2006. He principally responsible for outreach involving geospatial technologies, the three main categories of which are geographic information systems (GIS), global positioning system (GPS) and remote sensing. Shane is also an Extension Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at UNH.


As one of a handful Geospatial Extension Specialists in the country, Shane develops educational workshops and works to advance geospatial tools to provide communities with the skills they need to make informed decisions regarding community planning and natural resource conservation.

In July 2011, Shane was certified as a GIS Professional by the GIS Certification Institute.

In September 2012, Shane completed his PhD in Zoology on the development remote sensing techniques to monitor water quality in New England lakes and the Great Salt Lake.
