Study Abroad for Equine Studies students

Study Abroad

The University of New Hampshire offers a wide variety of study abroad opportunities that students in the equine studies major can participate in.  Students should not feel limited to locations that offer equine programs.  The World Cultures Discovery Requirement is waived for students  who participate in a study abroad program that is at least eight weeks in duration.

There are several university requirements for study abroad.  Students must:

1.            Be in good standing with the Student Conduct System.

2.            Have earned at least 32 credit hours total, and at least 12 credit hours at UNH.

3.            Have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA.

4.            Have a declared major.

Study abroad can be done during an academic year, semester or during a summer.  Spring semester of junior year is a very popular time for study abroad.

UNH’s Center for International Education and Global Engagement (CIEGE) offers students information on the more than 500 different study abroad opportunities that are available to students, as well as information about the application and preparation process.  For more information, go to:  http://www.unh.edu/global/education-abroad
