Biological Sciences: Integrative and Organismal Biological Sciences - PhD

Research Topic: Animal Behavior, Conservation Biology, Bioacoustics, Thermal ecology

Interests: I am interested in how temperature and other environmental factors influence behavior in ectotherms. Specifically, I am fascinated with how ectotherms acquire information from their environment, and how they use that information to solve problems. I am also interested in animal communication, and inter- and intraspecific interactions in ectotherms.
Future directions: I aspire to use the skills I have acquired over my graduate career to become heavily involved in conservation research and conservation plan implementation, either working for a private company or government agency.
In my spare time: I am an animal trainer, and like to fill my free time helping clients with their pets’ behavioral issues. I also love to hike, fish, and go birding.
