How to Apply to the Nutrition Major at UNH

Initial Admission to the major as a First-year or Transfer Student

Students entering the University as first-year or transfer students may declare Nutrition as part of the UNH admission process.  First-year and transfer students who are admitted directly into Nutrition will be assigned an academic faculty advisor who will work with you throughout your course of study.

Declaring the Major as a Continuing Student within UNH

We take pride in delivering a high quality nutrition program with top notch advising and class sizes that allow for excellent interaction with faculty and peers.  To maintain these standards, we have developed policies for accepting internal transfer students into the major:

  • Admission requirements for existing UNH students can be found here.
  • There are two deadlines for admission to the Nutrition major each academic year: October 1 and March 1.  Decisions will be e-communicated no later than November 1 and April 1, respectively.  Qualified students will be admitted to the Dietetics Option on a competitive and space available basis.
  • All students interested in applying must view the Nutrition Major Information Session video, a recorded presentation that reviews the Internal Transfer Admission Policy and Application, the three Options within the program, careers opportunities, and how to apply for admission to the program.   At the conclusion of the recording instructions are provided to verify participation.
