Major/Graduating Year: Therapeutic Riding, 2018

Riding Experience: I've been riding horses since I was 10. I got my first horse 3 years ago and we've done everything! He loves to jump, but due to his age we've been doing less jumping and focusing on dressage work.

Why I like IDA: I love the chance to improve my riding by riding many different horses. I also love how IDA is a group of riders that compete together and support each other!

Major/graduating year: Equine Science, 2017

Riding experience: I have been riding for over 15 years now, with a background in primarily dressage and recently eventing. Over the past five years I became more into eventing and have been competing at Novice level in local schooling shows, while taking dressage lessons on a regular basis to improve my dressage skills. A year ago I bought my first horse Georgie, who I am teaching dressage to and hoping to turn into my new eventing partner. I hope to continue improving in all disciplines of riding so I can be a successful upper level eventer and eventually use my knowledge to teach others to grow and learn with horses in a future equine career.

Why you like Ida: IDA is an amazing opportunity to become more adaptable with various horses, and requires you to think fast and trust your instincts when riding, which I love! It’s also awesome to be riding with and learning from so many talented riders on a team in a sport that is usually individual.

Upper Training

Major: Biomedical Sciences: Med Vet Sciences 2018
Riding background: I started riding when I was 5 years old when my parents bought our horse farm from my grandparents. Over the years I have ridden most disciplines, but dressage has always been my favorite. My first horse was a little Hackney Pony named Jelly Bean who I was absolutely in love with. When I was 10, I had Ms Chin an off the track Standardbred. My next horse was an Arab cross that I rehabbed. Currently I have an off the track Thoroughbred named Wilson that I have been showing the past 2 years.
Why I like IDA: it's nice to be part of a team that typically is an individual sport. I loved being on high school sports teams and am enjoying being on a team just as much now.

: Undeclared: 2018
Riding Background: I've been riding since I was 8 years old and shortly after that my parents bought me my first horse, a little quarter horse mare that I still own today. I now have three horses, my quarter horse Grace, an Appaloosa/TB Josie and a Dutch Warmblood Turbo and I have been riding and competing dressage for 7 years. I have qualified for Championships at NEDA Fall the past 4 years competing at training level and first level.
I like IDA because I believe that riding different horses will make me a wellrounded rider and expand my knowledge of horses and riding. I have also wanted to ride at UNH since I was 10 years old.
