Staff Award of Excellence Nominations

The COLSA Staff Award of Excellence program was established in June 2008 to recognize staff that had:

"Demonstrated excellence in support of the College of Life Sciences & Agriculture’s teaching, research and outreach mission through exemplary performance in their position and a record of commitment to the University community.”

The award program was modified in 2009 due to the diversity in types of staff positions across the college and because there is always more than one staff member per year who is deserving of recognition.  The changes made resulted in four award categories:

  1. Community Spirit/Outreach
  2. Teaching/Student Support
  3. Research Support
  4. Professionalism

Criteria

To be considered for an award in one of the four categories, the nominee must be a COLSA staff member classified as an OS or PAT with a minimum of three years of service.

Timeframe

Annual award nominations are accepted during May15 – June 30 of each year. COLSA faculty and staff awards are presented at the 1st annual all faculty/staff meeting (may be either fall or spring) of the college each year.

Recognition

Recipients will receive a cash award of $1,000 (taxable income) & a framed certificate.

Award recipients will be posted to COLSA’s website.
