Changing your Major to Nutrition

Initial Admission to the major as a First-year or Transfer Student

Students entering the University as first-year or transfer students may declare Nutrition as part of the UNH admission process.  First-year and transfer students who are admitted directly into Nutrition will be assigned an academic faculty advisor who will work with you throughout your course of study.

Declaring the Major as a Continuing Student within UNH

We take pride in delivering a high quality nutrition program with top notch advising and class sizes that allow for excellent interaction with faculty and peers.  To maintain these standards, we have developed policies for accepting internal transfer students into the major:

  • There are two deadlines for admission to the Nutrition major each academic year: October 1 and March 1.  Decisions will be e-communicated no later than November 1 and April 1, respectively.  Qualified students will be admitted to the program on a competitive and space available basis.
  • Students interested to apply should attend a mandatory information session.  The information session will review the Internal transfer admission policy and application, the three options within the program, careers opportunities, and how to apply for admission to the program.
  • The Spring 2017 Information Session will be held on Friday, February 17th at 3:40 to 5:00 p.m. in Kendall Hall, Room 106.
