Faculty Handbook: Minors

A student may declare a minor in any program which offers a minor either within or outside the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture.

A minor consists of 20 semester hours with C- or better and 2.0 grade point average in subjects that the minor department approves. Courses taken on the pass/fail basis can not be used for a minor. No more than eight credits used to satisfy major requirements may be used for the minor.

The student must have the minor approved by his/her major advisor and by the minor supervisor. The student will then present the completed form to his/her college dean for approval. The college dean will take action and forward the approval to the Registrar. The minor will appear on the student's academic record when all the necessary courses have been successfully completed.
