Biological Sciences Graduate Program

The graduate program in Biological Sciences is intended for students who aspire to a professional career in some aspect of animal or plant biology, whether in academia, government, non-profit organizations, or industry. The program emphasizes successful completion of original research through

  • development of independent and critical thinking
  • mastery of a range of research techniques
  • broad knowledge of modern biology
  • effective seminar and conference presentations
  • writing scientific proposals, reports and publications

The program is administered through the Department of Biological Sciences, and includes faculty from other COLSA departments as well as the School of Marine Sciences and Ocean Engineering.
